Review 2023 - Cap'n's Cove

Review 2023

Cap'n's Cove

Saturday, April 15, 2023, the Quaker Oats (a PepsiCo company) hosted a pool party named Cap'n Cove in celebration of the 60th anniversary of their famed Cap'n Crunch cereal at the Lone Pool inside the Margaritaville Resort in Palm Springs, CA.

At 10am Cap'n Crunch afficianados were welcomed into the Cap'n's Cove pool party were they walked into an area that had a cool Cap'n's Cove sign where they were able to take pictures.  After snapping selfies with the sign, they could walk over to a ceral bar where they were given some Cap'n Crunch with milk.

Those fortunately to get their name on this invite only list, were not only treated to the famed ceral and milk for breakfast, but also enjoyed yogurt sprinkled with Cap'n Crunch and some delicious mini muffins.  As well as lots of free goodies like Cap'n Crunch jerseys and shirts, and other goodies.

Enjoying their best life by eating their favorite ceral poolside, catching the sun's rays, and listening to some great beats by some cool DJs, what more could they ask for.

Straight out of Belair, DJ Jazzy Jeff came without his plus 1 (Will Smith aka The Fresh Prince) to drop cannon ball sized musical beats at this pool party.  Jazzy Jeff played a few of his famous old school jams as part of his set.

Shortly after, actress (Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls, and Leighton in the HBO Max comedy series The Sex Lives of College Girls) and Interscope recording artist Renee Rapp performed her songs off of her EP

Everything to Everyone, and even helped sing Happy Birthday on stage to the Captain who she called Daddy.

Renee also introduced the next guest on the line up, whom we must mention she also called Daddy lol.  She called up to stage her other Daddy who came up to stage wearing his Ike Turner inspired mushroom hair better know as his Silk Sonic black wig Anderson .Paak aka DJ Pee .Wee (one half of the famed duo group Silk Sonic, other half being Bruno Mars).  DJ Pee .Wee brought out a pair of turntables, and pulled out his set of vinyl records and played us some Funk, Soul, some of his Silk Sonic classic which the crowd sang along to, and danced around the pool, he even played a De La Soul record.

Special thanks to PepsiCo and General Meals for the invite, and a big happy anniversary to the party animal Captain who danced around with the crowd and on stage at this party till 3pm when the party ended.
